The Campus and Community Resource Center strives to care for the whole person. The office is designed to ensure all students have the opportunity to excel. The office is a place that offers programming and resources to first-generation students, aged out foster care students, parenting students and any other student who believes they will benefit from our services. We strive to serve students to ensure they have the opportunity to thrive academically, personally, and professionally through access to academic success resources and community engagement.

The CCRC’s mission is to cultivate a culture of respect, awareness, and understanding among Pitt State students, faculty, and staff, celebrating diversity on campus and in the community.

The CCRC facilitates this mission through the following objectives:

• Seminars and Workshops: These programs are designed to broaden the horizons of students, faculty, and staff on issues regarding diversity and multiculturalism.

• Support Structure for Student Organizations: The CCRC provides support services for the Black Student Association (BSA), Hispanics of Today (HOT), and Native American Student Association (NASA), including assisting with the planning of events and programs throughout the academic year.

• Celebration of Nationally Recognized Heritage Months: The CCRC participates alongside the entire national community in the celebration of cultural heritage months including but not limited to African-American, Hispanic-American, and Native-American months. The CCRC also supports many other initiatives such as National Women’s History Month.

• Participation in Diversity and Multicultural Conferences: CCRC ambassadors attend workshops and conferences throughout the academic year to continuously develop the the tools and resources necessary to consistently achieve the CCRC mission at Pitt State.

• Student Advisement Programs: The hosts events and provides services that ease students’ transition to higher education and helps build the relationships and support structure that enables them to persist and graduate from Pitt State. The CCRC also sponsors several leadership skill-building programs for students.

• Access to Educational and Developmental Resources: The CCRC maintains the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC). The MRC is a comprehensive library of books, magazines, and videos for students, faculty, and staff. The MRC also houses a computer lab with FREE PRINTING.
