NAMI Coeur d’Alene is the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental health conditions in Kootenai County. As a nonprofit community organization, NAMI CDA offers free education, peer‑led support groups, and awareness activities that reduce stigma, foster connection, and promote understanding of mental health challenges.

Programs include support groups for people living with mental illness, family and friends support groups, community education, and outreach activities that connect individuals with local resources and promote wellness. Services are peer‑driven, confidential, and designed to empower participants with shared experiences, coping strategies, and understanding.

NAMI CDA also engages in community advocacy and training—such as suicide prevention education—and offers opportunities for volunteering and involvement to strengthen local mental health support networks.
