NAMI — National Alliance on Mental Illness is a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to building better lives for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions. Through a network of 650+ state and local affiliates, NAMI offers support, education, advocacy, and public awareness to reduce stigma and connect people with helpful resources.
NAMI’s HelpLine is a free, confidential support service available by phone, text, or email Monday through Friday that provides emotional support, information about mental health conditions, and connections to resources—staffed by trained specialists who can help guide next steps on your mental health journey.
In addition to the HelpLine, NAMI shares a Warmline directory, where callers can find peer‑run support lines in their area that offer non‑crisis emotional support from trained volunteers.
NAMI also organizes peer‑led support groups such as NAMI Connection for individuals living with mental health conditions and NAMI Family Support Group for caregivers and loved ones. These groups provide safe, respectful spaces to share experiences, build community, and strengthen coping skills.
Together, these services help people feel understood, less isolated, and better equipped to navigate challenges related to mental health.
