The National Call Center for Homeless Veterans (NCCHV) is a free, confidential, 24/7 hotline operated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that helps Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness access immediate support and housing services.
By calling 1‑877‑4AID‑VET (1‑877‑424‑3838) or using VA’s online chat, Veterans, family members, friends, and service providers can connect with trained VA counselors who assess urgent needs and link callers to local housing assistance, case managers, VA benefits, healthcare, and community resources anywhere in the U.S.
The Call Center serves as a nationwide entry point into VA homeless programs, helping Veterans understand their options, prevent eviction, and move toward stable housing—no prior enrollment in VA healthcare is required to get help.
